The ice man cometh

Well, I got my email informing me I have Happy Camper training tomorrow and the next day. I will get to spend 24 glorious hours outdoors. Unfortunately there is no longer night, so I won't get to experience the more harsh weather while I am out there. I will take my camera so expect some new photos in a couple of days. One problem might be trying to sleep with the sun up. Maybe I'll take the sleep mask I got as part of my complimentary gift pack when I was on the Quantas flight down.
It'll be interesting to see what happens in the Wastewater Plant when I'm out for two days. I fully expect all hell to break loose and for me to return to a smoldering pile of turtle-scented ashes.

Turtle-scented ashes???
I was looking at your new pictures. What are you doing in the plastic lined box?
I like the Antarctica Aloha shirt! Are they available in women's sizes?

Hey, Michael -- This is Tim Burke, your mom's renter above the garage. Your mom gave me your blog address weeks ago but it took me until now to get around to checking it out.

I just read all your posts since Oct. 16. I've enjoyed the info and your dry sense of humor... keep it coming.

BTW, this is the first blog I've ever visited. Uh-oh, now I've got to figure out my Google Blogger username. Or make up something new to add to my growing list of secret usernames, top secret passwords and super-secret clues-in-case-I-forget-my-password words.

My first olfactory impression of the wastewater treatment plant was that it smelled like the turtles we used to have in Hawaii.

The plastic-lined box was the box the bio-solids go into at the end of the treatment process. I just thought it would be funny to pose in one.

New Zealand shirt sizes (S, M, L, XL) run a size smaller (XS, S, M, L). Scott Base also has a ton of clothing to pick from.

And welcome aboard Tim, I think I have only read one blog before this one. Nice username, btw :)

I don't always have enough to post several times a week, but I try to get on here at least once a week so people know I didn't get eaten by a penguin or something.
